Lesson 11, Sunday, April 6, 2014

Last lesson includes research and analysis by Britt Beamer and Ken Ham on why we are losing our kids.  Could it be that when we teach and/or model a lack of faith in Genesis 1-11 that we place irreconcilable doubts in the minds of our kids?  How could we not?  And the sad thing is that it happens much sooner than you might think!

Lesson 05, Sunday February 9, 2014

We cover Genesis chapter 6 in today's lesson which starts out with a reference to the Nephilim.  The Nephilim are acutely interesting and theories abound as to what and who they were.  However, since these giants do not have much of an impact on our study of creation, we only mention them.  Please read this article if you're interested in the giants of the Bible including the Nephilim: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v7/n1/ot-giants.

The "breath of life" is what is referred to in Hebrew as the "nephesh".  Here are some great resources for learning more about nephesh:

Oh, and by the way, the rib can regenerate.  Dr. Guthrie looked it up during class, and here is the link to the article I had read:

Lesson 02, Sunday January 19, 2014

Lesson 2 in the series.  We pick back up on day 6 of the creation week in Genesis 1 (even though I referred to it as day 5 in the recording).

Lesson 01, Sunday January 12, 2014

This blog is in support of a Bible class I'm teaching on Biblical Creation at Campbell Street Church of Christ in Jackson, TN (http://www.campbellstreet.org/).  I was asked to record the classes by someone who could not make it to class but wanted to get the material.

OK, this is not really lesson 1, it is lesson 2, but I'm starting the numbering here.  This is the first lesson I recorded and the first lesson where we get into the meat of the class.

Among other things we discuss the meaning of the Hebrew word 'yom' which is the word for day.  the handout can be accessed here.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and feel free to comment (appropriately please).
